Mountain Rain - © Brian Ingram 2014
I was traveling last week for my “Day Job”, so I was not able to post anything, however, once I got back home I promptly took my daughter up to the mountains to take her 6 year pictures. We had a terrific time as always.
It was a cool wet day, and the park was packed with people either doing portrait sessions, or taking pictures of the Elk. I was there to shoot Lex, but managed to get a couple of side shots as well. I don’t consider myself a portrait photographer, but may start dabbling in it. It is always a blast to take pictures of Lex, but I suspect that is just because she is my daughter ;-).
I was shooting strictly with a 70-300 (105-450 on my 7D) wide open, because I wanted some that were really close, face, head and shoulders only, but also because I really like the compression that I get out of this lens. This scene was one that I came across while she was taking a break. I would have like to get her up there, or walking up to it, with that lens on the scene was just too far away, and she would have been soaked getting out there and back… Oh well, still think it is a great scene.
