In the Presence of Great Giants.
Took this image while on a walk early this winter, was struck at how clear the line was all the way from the clouds behind Long’s Peak to these homes with an amazing view of the Front Range mountains.
It surprises me to think, after only 3 years living in Colorado, how much impact the presence of these mountains have on me. When I travel to other places I often fine myself looking out the windows for them and being disappointed when they are not there. My family and I were driving back to Colorado from the midwest recently on Interstate 70 and my wife and I both stated “there are our mountains”, just as they started to rise above the horizon.
I don’t know that I could ever live someplace that did not have mountains again.

Time Lapse Test 2: Sunset
So this is attempt number 2, much happier with the the results, thanks to @Daniel_Dragon and @Scott_Wood for the assistance and tutorials. This one does not appear to have any of that nasty flickering that the first one did. I liked this one enough that I threw some music into it as well.
The beginning is a little blown out, but the end is pretty good and I like the way it crests in the middle. I could probably smooth out the exposure of the first half with some post production, but sense it was a test I figured I would just leave it as is.
Hope you enjoy it. You can checkout the larger version here:
