Waiting for some rises - © Brian Ingram 2014
This was shot from a boat in the middle of the river at a slow point when we were waiting for some fish to rise. Someone asked why I left the car in it. Two reasons, one I was in a boat in a river that was deeper than I am tall, so the ability to recompose the shot was limited, but I would have left it anyway for the second reason, it adds a human element to the scene, one that many fishermen can relate to. I have spend many hours in a vehicle just like that, at the edge of a river, hiding from the bugs, keeping warm from the cold, keeping dry from the rain, waiting for the moment when there is activity on the surface, then heading out into the elements.
